11 Alabama cities on their list of the best places in the
country for businesses and careers.
The rankings were based on the cost of doing business,
crime rate, educational attainment, cost of living,
projected income growth and
projected job growth.

Alabama…
a great place for foreign investment
Site Selection magazine ranks Alabama’s business climate
among the best in the nation in its annual survey of states.
The magazine, which is read by more than 44,000 corporate
executives, rated Alabama’s business climate as the
third best in the nation. (November 2008).
“Alabama continues to be one of the nation’s
leaders when it comes to economic development and
growth,” Governor Bob Riley said about the
magazine’s ranking. “Companies that are looking
for an outstanding workforce and a pro-growth environment know
Alabama is where they will find both.”
Other past accomplishments include:

Alabama ranked 7th on Site Selection Magazine’s Top States for
its number of new industry or expansion projects in 2006.
(March 2007).

Alabama was named "State of the Year" four consecutive times
by Southern Business and Development magazine, based on its
record of job growth and economic development. (June 2006).

Alabama Industrial Development Training
(AIDT), the state's work force training program, was
ranked first in the U.S. in a 2006 Expansion Management site
consultant survey.
One of the most attractive incentives that Alabama offers is
the statutory incentive programs such as a corporate income tax
credit for qualifying companies giving a stable framework for
long-term investment.
