MOST RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Mobile, Alabama topped the Forbes Fastest Growing Metro list for 2008. Huntsville ranked 4th and Auburn-Opelika ranked 6th. (January 2008)
  • Northrup Grumman and EADS North America wins the USAF contract to supply 179 KC-45 aerial refueling tankers to be assembled in Mobile, Alabama. (2008)
  • Alabama was ranked 2nd among the TOP TEN COMPETITIVE STES OF 2007. The ranking criteria includes: Total new and expanded facilities per 1 million population, total new jobs created at new and expanded facilities, total actual number of new and expanded facilities, percentage growth in new and expanded facilities, among others.
  • Site Selection Magazine names the German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp one of the top North American deals of 2007.
