MOST RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS

  • A recent study showed that Alabama received high marks for manufacturing and logistics. According to the 2009 Manufacturing and Logistics Report Card, published by Ball State University, Alabama – along with Utah, Indiana, Missouri and Kansas – is considered one of the best states for those industries.   • Mobile, Alabama topped the Forbes Fastest Growing Metro list for 2008. Huntsville ranked 4th and Auburn-Opelika ranked 6th. (January 2008)
  • According to a research forecasts done for Forbes by Moody's Economy.com, Alabama has some of the fastest growing metro areas in the country, including Mobile, which is projected to have the greatest change in "gross metropolitan product (GMP), 34% between 2007-2012.
